Spinal Decompression

Advanced, non-surgical treatment technology designed for patients with disc injuries, sciatica, and other disc-related spinal conditions.

Spinal discs perform one of the most demanding jobs in the human body. With nearly every movement—standing, sitting, bending, lifting, or walking—they continue to absorb and distribute forces throughout the spine. Over time, these repetitive mechanical demands, combined with age-related changes, may contribute to the development of disc-related spinal conditions and nerve compression that can lead to sciatica, radiating pain, numbness, weakness, and reduced function.

The DOC Decompression System is designed to address the unique mechanical demands placed on injured spinal discs through precise, computer-controlled treatment. Programmed cycles of distraction and relaxation gently reduce pressure on injured discs and affected nerve structures while creating negative pressure within the disc. The result is a highly targeted, non-surgical treatment designed to help relieve symptoms associated with many disc-related spinal conditions, including sciatica.

How Spinal Decompression Works

Spinal decompression is a motorized, computer-controlled treatment that applies carefully programmed cycles of distraction and relaxation to the spine. These cycles temporarily reduce pressure within the affected disc and across nearby nerve structures, creating a mechanical effect that cannot be reproduced through a standard chiropractic adjustment.

Computer-Controlled Precision

The DOC System precisely controls the force, timing, and progression of each treatment cycle so the selected protocol can be delivered consistently throughout the program.

Negative Disc Pressure

Gentle distraction reduces pressure within the affected disc. This pressure change supports fluid movement within the disc and may reduce mechanical stress on irritated nerve structures.

Disc-Specific Treatment

Spinal decompression is designed specifically for disc-related mechanical stress, including conditions associated with disc bulging, herniation, and compression-related sciatic symptoms.

What Makes the DOC System Different

The DOC Decompression System is more than a treatment table. It is a computerized treatment platform that allows a selected clinical protocol to be programmed and delivered through controlled, repeatable cycles over time.

Programmed Treatment

The treatment protocol selected for your condition is entered into the DOC System so each session follows the intended treatment plan.

Controlled Mechanical Force

The system delivers gradual cycles of pull and release rather than a single manual movement, allowing the spine to be treated with a high degree of control.

Progressive Care

Decompression is provided as a structured program. Treatment response is monitored over time, and recommendations may be adjusted as clinically appropriate.

Is Spinal Decompression Right for You?

Spinal decompression can be helpful for selected disc-related conditions, but it is not appropriate for every spine or every source of pain. A decompression evaluation considers how your symptoms behave, how your spine responds to movement and positioning, prior treatment, and imaging when available. These findings help determine whether reducing mechanical pressure is likely to be useful and whether expectations align with your clinical presentation

Evaluation includes

  • Review of symptoms and health history

  • Assessment of movement and positioning tolerance

  • Review of prior imaging or care when available

  • Discussion of candidacy and realistic expectations

Frequently Asked Questions

  • No. A chiropractic adjustment is a manual treatment used to improve joint motion. Spinal decompression uses computerized mechanical distraction and relaxation cycles designed specifically to reduce pressure affecting injured spinal discs and nearby nerve structures.

  • No. Not all spinal pain is primarily driven by disc compression, and some conditions may require a different approach. An evaluation is necessary to determine whether decompression is appropriate for your presentation.

  • Treatment is designed to be gentle and controlled. Many patients describe the session as comfortable or relaxing. Your response is monitored, and treatment settings are selected according to your clinical presentation and tolerance.

  • Candidacy is based on the complete clinical picture - including your symptoms, movement and positioning tolerance, prior care, examination findings, and imaging when available. Imaging alone does not determine whether decompression is appropriate.
